~NATIONAL DAIRY MONTH~

While this month has flown by, you could consider it pretty great month. Five very important people were born in this month, my sister, both my nieces, one of my besties Karen and my future MIL. So I must say I am very thankful for the month of June, it has blessed me with an great amount of joy throughout my years. The other reason it is a great month... National Dairy Month.

National Dairy Month started clear back in 1937 as a way to promote drinking milk according to the National Dairy Food Association. Back then it was known as National Milk Month. At the time dairy production was at a surplus and the main goal of creating National Dairy Month was to stabilize the demand as the supply of milk was abundant. After the National Dairy Council stopped promoting the cause it was then named National Dairy Month. Now 78 years later the dairy industry continues their promotion and commitment to supply our country and the nation with healthy, nutrient rich, product that is safe.

This is Shannon Kuball, her and her family work hard everyday on her husbands farm. Take a look and see what her life is like on their Waterville, Minnesota Dairy. (Thank you to Meet America's Farmers for sharing. )

There are not many dairy's in the Sandhills of Nebraska, and I don't know a lot about the industry, so when I have questions I go to the source...the dairy farmers that are up at the crack of dawn ensuring that their animals are taken care and that they are supplying the nation with a healthy and nutritious product. Check out the links below to learn more about the dairy industry. Then be sure to go out and have your favorite dairy treat tonight in celebration.
